While many businesses have moved towards Microsoft Teams, you may prefer the features and interfaces of Zoom, Skype, or Slack. Your employer or group might also decide to transfer to a better platform, such as Discord

Solution for Windows

If you’ve installed Microsoft Teams on a Windows device, follow these quick steps to remove it.

Step 1: Find your settings

You’ll need to find the app first. While you can also uninstall Microsoft teams using the Control Panel, the best way is to click on the Windows Search button and insert Settings before clicking on Apps.

Step 2: Find Microsoft Teams

Next up, go to Apps & Features and search for “teams”. The application should appear as one of the options. Select it before moving to the next step.

Step 3: Uninstall Microsoft Teams

The first option you’ll select is Microsoft Teams before clicking on the uninstall button. Don’t move on just yet, as you also need to remove Teams Machine-Wide Installer further down the apps list.

Solution for Mac

Removing Microsoft Teams from Mac devices is slightly different. Let’s have a quick look at the process.

Step 1: Force quit

Firstly, you’ll need to locate the MT icon on the dock and right-click on it. Hold down the Option key and force the app to quit.

Step 2: Find the app folder

Now, head to Applications Folder and find Microsoft Teams within it. The files should be listed in alphabetical order.

Step 3: Move Microsoft Teams to trash

To uninstall Microsoft Teams, you’ll need to move the app to the trash. Once you complete this step, your device will remove it for you with a confirmation at the end.

Solution for Android and iOS

Removing MT from your mobile phone or tablet is effortless. You simply hold your finger on the relevant icon and wait for the menu to appear. The option to uninstall Microsoft Teams will appear, which you can confirm by selecting it.

Farewell to Team meetings

Now that you’ve learned this easy process, you’ll have more storage space on your device, and you can move onto your new meeting app. If you’d like our expert team at Softonic to write other Microsoft Teams guides for you, please feel free to let us know.
